Views of Wales this week.....
Club member, Karen Penny is aiming to become the first female to walk 13000 miles around the coast of Great Britain and Ireland in aid of Alzheimers Research Charity. So far she's completed 8,000 miles having reached the Orkney Islands before COVID restrctions paused the walk. She restarted from her home in Swansea in the opposite direction covering the rest of Wales and the south coast of England to reach the Isle Of Wight where restrictions again interupted her walk.
Her fund raising challenge is as daunting as her intended mileage but she is almost three quarters of the way to the £100,000 target. Those wishing to donate should visit her JustGiving Page
Lliswerry Runners February Challenge is for club members to "Catch Karen"and this week WE DIDI IT!
Up to 21st Feb, we notched up over 10500 miles which puts us on the east coast of England, around Kings Lynn.
So, why stop?? We are going to attempt the full 13000 miles circuit of Ireland & Great Britain plus the Channel islands by the end of this month.
There follows some beautiful pictures which Karen took during her walk.
