We want everyone to enjoy their experience of our race. We have, therefore, provided some information below to help guide you through the race proceedings. If, however, you have any queries or need any further information, then please email Chris Gentle at firstname.lastname@example.org
The race will start at 11:30am on Sunday 29th January 2017
Race numbers, Chips (not the eating kind!) and Race Memento
Please go to Race HQ before the race to register and collect you race number and timing chip. One you have completed your race, please return to Race HQ to collect your competitors race T shirt. Please not that you will need to show your race number to collect your T shirt.
How to get there
This year, the Race HQ will be at Newport Stadium which is located at Newport International Sports Village. This is in the same location as Bar Amber, which was previous years HQ. The Start of the race will be at Lliswerry Secondary School, Nash Road which is about a 10 minute walk from Race HQ. Portable toilets will be available at the Start area.
Parking for the race is at Newport Stadium. There is no parking school and please do not park in the street near it as this will cause congestion. Additional parking is available at the Tennis Centre and Velodrome within the sports village complex but may be limited by other activities.
NOTE: WE HAVE ACCESS TO THE SCHOOL GROUNDS ONLY. ANY ATTEMPT TO ENTER ANY OF THE SCHOOL BUILDINGS WILL COMPROMISE THE FUTURE OF OUR RACE.
The Newport Stadium Race HQ are accessed via the Southern Distributor Road that runs south of Newport joining Junction 28 of the M4 (Tredegar Park) to Junction 24 of the M4 (The Coldra/Celtic Manor). For those arriving from outside Newport we feel it is easiest to follow the route in from Junction 24 of the M4. The Newport Stadium is well signposted and quite large but you should note that the entrance is from behind the Carcraft Supermarket.
Changing facilities, etc.
There are excellent changing, shower & toilet facilities at both the Newport Stadium, Newport Tennis Centre and the Velodrome. These are not run by us and there is a small charge of around £1 for using them. There are car parks near each of these facilities but they are fairly small. We recommend that you do not leave valuables in the changing rooms (not even in a locker) and cannot be responsible for any losses. A baggage tent will be placed near to the start but we take no responsibility for any items left in the tent.
